Patterns Top Menu
In the Top Menu on the Patterns Panel you can tweak how the pattern is applied to the structure and how Tessitura will play it.
Current Key - Scale and Chords were the pattern works best
This information is relevant to the structure you have loaded. The chords will populate from the information stored in the structure in the current key.
The pattern will work well over the chords in the list (for improvisation and composition)

Here you can see the Step-Skip Pattern you have loaded and also edit the pattern by clicking on the

Metronome, Tempo, Triple Meter (Quarter-note vs. Dotted-quarter), Play
Enable the triple meter to change to beat value to dotted-quarter (as in a 6/8 or 9/8, etc.)
i.e. If the triple meter is enabled then a rhythm of 1 eighth-note will play 3 notes per beat
You may also use the triple meter to create rhythms with a triplets
Choose the tempo manual by typing on the box or use the up-down arrows for +-5 the tempo
The Metronome will always play a count-off at the beginning but you may enable it to keep it playing through-out the pattern
The Play button will play the pattern only once with the Auto Key and Auto Modes disabled but will circle thru keys or modes if they are enabled
Play Chord, Add Inversion / Retrograde
Enable the Play Chord button and Tessitura will play the chord-that-best-fits the current structure in the current key before playing the pattern.
You may choose if this chord will include tensions when played in the Preferences Panel
Add the Inversion or Retrograde (or both) of the pattern at the end.
i.e. If the skip-step pattern is a 1up (Ascending scale), adding the Inversion will add a descending scale at the end
Approaches
The loaded approach representation is shown here. Read more about it in the Approaches - Escape Notes section
Enable the Include Approach button to include the approach-notes in the pattern.
By default, the pattern only approaches the first note in each pattern cycle unless you enable the Approach All Notes button which will apply an approach to every single note in the pattern
Rhythmic Displacement
You can apply rhythmic displacement to the starting note in the entire exercise created by the pattern.
