Substructures Panel

In the  Substructures Panel  you may investigate if other structures are contained in the main (current) structure.

Substructures are incredibly useful for improvisation, composition, and chord voicings in piano playing and arranging.

This is a great feature to find Upper Structure Triads, or any kind of upper structures, in chord voicings creation and in improvisation.

On a side note, remember what we call Upper Structures in Jazz are actually substructures contained in the main structure.

You load a structure from the collection into the substructures panel and Tessitura will find any occurrences of that structure within the main structure

i.e. In  C Melodic Minor  there are  2 Major Triads  over the  and  IV  degrees. I  C Melodic Minor   these are  and  F

The  Right Panel  will show a collection of structures.

Note:  You may use the collection of structures on the right to load other structures (drag & drop) this panel is exactly the same as the  Structures Finder Panel  (only that now is on your right panel)

Also, you may drop the structures from this panel into the substructures panel (to load the structures as a substructure) or onto the main panel to load a different main structure

You may also enable the  Show one substructure at a time  to view the properties of each occurrence of the substructure.

Browse the different occurrences using the dial button in the center of the circle

You will find out how much  tension, chord-tones and avoid notes for voicings  are present in that substructure
